Blog Platform Write Ups

During our September Meeting, the Atlanta Bloggers were challenged to write about their chosen blogging platforms. Here is what they have to say:

Alicia from The Lili Effect says :-

I like blogger/blogspot because I frequently use my blog as an external link site for articles I've written for Suite 101. Because it's a Google-hosted blog platform, it gets spidered far more frequently, and I find my Suite articles are indexed much more quickly from contextual posts and widgets on my blogspot blog.

Blogspot doesn't have the layout and customization features that wordpress and other platforms provide, but it does provide simple solutions and intuitive posting processes. It's easy. I can quickly update and move on with my day.

Randy from CDN Evangelist says :-

I use WordPress and although it wasn't love at first sight, I have grown to love WordPress and marvel and how many websites can be managed using WordPress as their CMS. I also find it equally entertaining that some will find WordPress convenient and easy to use, while others just don't get it and venture on to Joomla and Drupal, which are both excellent CMSs but overkill for most situations.

WordPress can be configured quickly but you can also find a great deal of resources which will help you use WordPress to it's fullest potential utilizing plugins and all sorts of tips and tricks to make your WordPress blog powerful and unique. It's like a Harley - there's tons of 'em out there but this one is mine.

Another thing I like about WordPress is the convenience factor when using some of the optional plugins. There are plugins which can simply upgrading to the latest version of WordPress to the click of a mouse, get rid of spammers with a CAPTCHA and make you a SEO guru by automtically notifying Google when you make a post.

I didn't make it to the last meeting but I did get my blog platform writeup done. Any chance to get some info from the meeting I missed?

Er, figured I'd leave the link to my writeup too... Meant to do that in the first post.
